Easter Booster Club Fundraiser Ideas - Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Booster Club Fundraiser: Egg Hunt

Off the top, an Easter Egg Hunt is the perfect event – it’s on theme, it is community oriented and it’s FUN! When planning your Easter egg hunt, get creative and add some unique twist to it as there are a ton of creative options for your holiday fundraiser. With your volunteers (manage jobs, and shifts with Booostr Volunteer Sign Up Manager)  and a splash of dye or paint, hosting an egg hunt could be a profitable option for your booster club, small nonprofit or PTO. Follow the steps below to help you get started:

  • First, you need a location for your Easter Egg Hunt. Perhaps a park, large open area or a supporter’s property could work. If you’re located in a dense urban environment, then don’t discount hosting an indoor egg hunt. A gym or classroom could work just as well, and you won’t have to worry about weather spoiling the event!
  • Second, with your location set, now it’s time to get creative! Try making your small nonprofit, PTO or booster club easter egg hunt memorable. Maybe search for glowing eggs in the dark, or make participants hunt for eggs with one eye masked.  Maybe you pair the hunt with an auction or musical entertainment. There are many ways to spice up the traditional egg hunt!
  • Third, consider engaging sponsors for the event. This could be one way to raise money, it could also just be a way to increase awareness and attendance or even, it could be a way to incorporate giveaways with the Easter Egg Hunt.
  • Fourth, it’s time to figure out how to raise money with your Easter Egg Hunt. There are  number of ways to earn revenue including:
    • Consider charging around an admission fee ($5-10)
    • Charge sponsors for placement within the event
    • Sell vender booth spaces
    • Hold a silent auction in conjunction with the Easter egg hunt
    • Have participants sign up and raise money by asking donors to give per egg found – think jog-thon-with sponsored laps – but in this case it would be eggs!
  • Finally, it’s time to invite all your supporters, volunteers, friends and family to participate.  Add the event to your Booostr Event Calendar and share the event to social media and email it via Booostr Email Marketing tool to all of the contacts in your Booostr Contact Manager. Promote it how you see fit, but just make sure you get the word out!

If you have enough volunteers, and demand, consider holding several hunts planned throughout the day!

The trusty car wash is a go to for booster club fundraising - ad a bit of flair with bunny ears and costumes!

Easter Booster Club Fundraiser: Bunny Car Wash

This is a simple idea, and takes a classic booster club fundraiser – the Car Wash, and puts an Easter spin on it. The reason we like this event, is that car washes are a decades long proven fundraiser. With warmer, sunnier weather and cars caked with winter salt and muck, it is really the perfect time to hold a car wash! Furthermore, people love their cars and in turn love having them washed! Who wouldn’t rather their car wash dollars not only clean their car but go to a good cause? But how does this relate to Easter? Glad you asked! For an Easter twist, have all volunteers (manage your nonprofit volunteers with Booostr Volunteer Sign Up) wear bunny costumes. If it’s warm outside, maybe this costume would consist of wearing simple rabbit ears on your head and a fluffy tail on your bum. In colder weather, think full body bunny suit! Either way, you will get laughs and plenty of cars lining up to be cleaned. Pricing for the car wash will depend on your area, but charging between 10 and 20 dollars or ask for donations. Spring means time for spring cleaning! Offer an easter spring cleaning service to raise money for your booster club!

Easter Booster Club Fundraiser: Spring Cleaning

Does anyone in your booster club, small nonprofit or PTO have a knack for cleanliness? Easter means family reunions and social gatherings. These events on their own, mean people will be Spring Cleaning.  But even if they are not hosting, Spring cleaning is a real thing. It helps people physically and mentally transition from Winter to Spring/Summer.  Either way, many people are not motivated – or push off cleaning until the last minute.  Beyond just cleaning houses, you could spin it to offer garage, storage or yard cleaning as well!

Next, set your pricing. This will need to be mapped out based on the type of job, and the size of the job. You can base it on the size of the house, garage, storage unit or yard and what the customer is asking to be done. Make sure you record the payment as a donation (use Booostr Financial Manager to track payments) so that you can issue them a receipt for their taxes.

Services and pricing are set. Now you have your cleaning service(s) set, now you need to get the necessary volunteers.  Some people are good at organizing kitchens and bathrooms, others are talented yard-workers. Make sure you have ample people available because the next step is… promotion!

Now that you’ve gathered a list of cleaning volunteers (check out Booostr Volunteer Sign Up Tool), advertise your services via email, social media or SMS text to all of your supporters, family and friends. You can charge a fee based on the job size and type of property being cleaned. Not only will people be pleased with a tidy home, but they’ll be happy donating to your noble cause. The possibilities are endless, so consider using this opportunity to launch an Easter fundraiser in the cleaning department.

A spring garage sale party can be a great way to fundraise for your booster club!

Easter Booster Club Fundraiser: Spring Garage Sale

Who doesn’t love a good Garage sale? Nothing better than browsing and finding that one collectible baseball card or set of paints you need at a great price! This sort of plays off the Spring cleaning as a fundraiser concept, but a garage sale is a win-win for your booster club, nonprofit or PTO AND your customer/donor holding the garage sale. This activity can be performed in multiple ways.

Garage Sale Idea 1: Consider holding a MEGA Easter garage sale. Use a space like a Gym or warehouse to host it. Have people sign up for “garage booths” and they bring in their stuff to sell.  It can be a super fun event if you have concessions and promote with the idea of finding Easter Treasures (playing off the Egg Hunt theme).

Garage Sale Idea 2: Maybe simply offer the service as a Spring/Easter Garage sale service. Your volunteers would come on site to help set up the sale, run it and then your small nonprofit, booster club or PTO would take an agreed upon percentage of the sales.

Garage Sale Idea 3: Instead of having people sign up for “garage sale” booths, just have people donate items for your booster club’s, nonprofit’s or PTO’s Mega Garage Sale. Everything could be donated In-Kind and when your organization sells it at the garage sale, you keep the money.

To add some fun to your garage sale, have someone standing near the road advertising your gig wearing (you guessed it) a bunny suit! This is bound to draw attention to your Easter holiday fundraiser.

A Great Easter Booster Club Fundraiser Ideas is an Easter Egg Decorating contest

Easter Booster Fundraiser Idea: Egg Decorating Contest

Make it your mission to bring the kid out of everyone with this Easter fundraising activity. For this booster club fundraiser, you need egg coloring kits, and lot’s of hard-boiled eggs. Have the kids work with their parents. Once people are finished, let everyone vote for the top three eggs.

Consider charging $5.00 for entry, and emphasize that there are prizes for the winners. Prizes excite people, however minuscule they may be (maybe a cold glass of Monster-ade!).

Easter Booster Fundraiser Idea: Easter 5K Race

One popular fundraising event type that can set your small nonprofits, PTO or Booster club up with an annual fundraising event, is holding an Easter 5K Race. People love participating in 5K races, and normally – most are held over Thanksgiving. There is zero reason that you could not hold your 5K event over Easter!  Instead of calling it a Turkey Trot, call it the Bunny Hop 5k!  How do you go about setting up a 5K race? It can be complicated, let’s take a look:

  1. You need a Course – This can be a track type course that they run a few times OR it could be different start and end point. The course could be on private property, or you could coordinate with your local government to hold it throughout your town.
  2. You Need a Date – You actually need two dates – one is the planned date, and the other is a rain date. Either way, you will need to coordinate this with your local government or private property host based on the route.
  3. You need a Name – What are you going to call your 5K?
  4. You need to Raise Money – How will you fundraise? Entry fees? Maybe pledges? What about sponsors? Or perhaps all three!
  5. You Need a Sign Up System – this should be online so that you can track sign ups and more easily share them. Consider using Booostr Form Manager tool for this.
  6. You need Volunteers – these will be people to check participants in, set up and break down any areas that the 5K needs to operate, perhaps handle concessions, interface with local government services. (Consider using Booostr Volunteer Sign Up tool to manage your 5K volunteers)
  7. You May Need Local Services – If your 5K is going on public roads, you will need to enlist your city services to help including: Police, Fire Department, and/or Medical personnel
  8. You need to promote your 5K locally and online

While running an Easter 5K  fundraiser is extremely challenging, the net fundraising and promotion gain is pretty big. Not only does it offer a unique fundraising opportunity, but it will expand your small nonprofit’s, booster club’s or PTO’s visibility within the community while also establishing new connections with your city.

Fundraise for your booster club by creating an Easter Text To Give campaign!

Easter Booster Club Fundraiser: Text to Give Options

Many people simply don’t carry cash. This can present a problem for your booster club. There are those who’d like to give, but don’t have money on them. Never fear, Text To Give is here and easier than ever with Booostr!  This is a very versatile option for your Boosotr Donation Campaigns as people always have their phones with them.

Often, when handing out flyers for your egg hunt or inviting people to your garage sale, people will say they can’t make it. But they still want to support the cause. Now you have an easy option. Just send them a quick text with Booostr SMS Messaging tool that has the option to insert a donation campaign link within the Text Message. This is a SUPER simple way to engage people that are unable to attend your in-person fundraiser.  This is the advantage of running an online Donation Campaign in conjunction with your Easter Fundraiser.

After reading these Easter fundraising ideas, hopefully you’ve gained inspiration and motivation for planning your small nonprofit, PTO or booster club fundraiser. This spring holiday provides a unique opportunity to combine good times with a strong campaign. This Easter season, be the nonprofit who puts the “fun” in fundraising.
