We’ve completely reworked the experience to make SMS messaging easier, more intuitive, and more useful, while adding some powerful features that give you more control over what you’re sending and when you’re sending it. And we’re pretty excited about this one. The new experience makes it easier to create messages, see exactly what you’re writing, understand your sending costs, choose your audience, schedule a message, review your history, and track your results—all in one place. Because the technology should make staying connected with your community easier, not make your job harder.

A Fresh, More Powerful SMS Messaging Experience

The new Booostr SMS Messaging Tool brings the pieces you need together in one streamlined experience. You can create messages, view your message history, download reports, send immediately or schedule for later, and save messages as drafts when you’re not quite ready to hit send. Your sending lists also connect directly with Booostr Contact Manager CRM, including your custom contact groups, making it much easier to reach the right people without constantly moving lists between different systems.

We wanted this redesign to feel natural. You shouldn’t need to be a technology expert to send a great text message to your community. Whether you’re reminding volunteers about an upcoming event, sharing an important update, reaching out to supporters, or simply keeping people in the loop, the tools are there when you need them without getting in the way.

See Your Message and Cost Before You Send

One of the features we’re especially excited about is the new message-writing experience. While you’re creating your SMS message, you’ll see it displayed alongside an in-phone mockup, giving you a better sense of how your message will appear when it reaches someone’s phone. At the same time, an automatic character counter keeps track of your message length, while the tool shows the message cost per number sent as you write.

That last part is important because nobody likes surprises when it comes to sending costs. With the new experience, you can see the cost as you’re building your message and make adjustments before you send. You can also optionally add “Type Stop to unsubscribe” to the end of an individual message when appropriate, giving you another simple way to manage your communication.

Send It Now, Schedule It, or Come Back Later

Not every message needs to go out the moment you write it. Sometimes you want to send something immediately, while other times you know exactly when it should arrive. The redesigned tool gives you the flexibility to send or schedule your SMS messages, so you can plan your communication around your organization’s needs.

And if you’re still working on the message? No problem. Save it as a draft and come back when you’re ready. We think those little conveniences matter, especially for organizations where the person creating the message may be juggling five other things at the same time.

Smarter Sending With Built-In Safe Hours

We also built more intelligence into the sending process. Booostr now includes Safe Sending Hours based on your organization’s time zone, helping you avoid sending messages at inappropriate times. Even better, the system can automatically hold messages that would reach phone numbers during their own local safe hours.

That means you don’t have to manually figure out what time it is for every contact on your list. Booostr takes care of that behind the scenes, helping you communicate with your community in a more thoughtful way while taking one more thing off your plate.

Built Around the Contacts You Already Have

Because SMS is most useful when you’re reaching the right people, the new tool works natively with Booostr Contact Manager CRM and its custom contact groups. You can organize your contacts based on how your organization works and then use those groups to manage your SMS sending lists.

It all works together, which means less time managing spreadsheets, importing lists, or wondering whether you’re using the latest version of your contacts. Your people are already in Booostr, and your messaging tools are right there with them.
