FC Bands Vision

The Franklin Central Bands family strives to create a challenging musical environment that encourages excellence through high expectations, hard work, compassion, support, and friendship. Each student is fostered by positive relationships with other students, staff, and community members who are actively involved in the educational process and creating unforgettable musical experiences.Franklin Central has an amazing band program that offers both music and life skills with the opportunity to perform in a large variety of settings.

Boosters

The band booster board consists of both elected and appointed individuals with students in the band program. The purpose of the board is to manage the funding of band activities and coordinate parent involvement. These are dedicated people going above and beyond just being band parents. Parent meetings occur on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:30pm in room 444 (the "Spaceship Room"). This is next to the school's bookstore.

The Band Boosters work very hard to keep fees as low as possible and to work with families suffering financial hardships. The Band Boosters developed the following financial policies with the best interest of the band program, students, and parents in mind.

Show Hosting Requirements The Band Boosters at Franklin Central High School host many events throughout the year, such as Winter Guard contests, Winter Percussion (IPA) contests, and a 2-day Winter Guard International (WGI) Percussion Regional. Groups fromalloverthecountryparticipateintheseevents,withattendanceexceeding5,000guests.ThisgeneratesT ENSOF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for the Band Boosters, but help is required to put on these prestigious events. Students and family members must volunteer for at least 1 shift/position at each event. This helps to make out-of-pocket fees as low as possible. Please reserve these dates as they become known and sign up for a shift as soon as the schedule is made available. Hosting shows prevents the need to hold “door-to-door” fundraisers on a nearly constant basis. Hosting shows throughout the year REDUCES the amount of time we spend fundraising. Hosting shows brings in tens of thousands of dollars to the band program each year. Hosting shows reduces fees for ALL band students by HUNDREDS of dollars.

To put it simply...we LOVE hosting shows!

The Franklin Central Band's activities are only possible with the involvement of parent volunteers. The band agreement states that every band family must participate in at least one event every year. Also, be aware the Franklin Central Band parents have a proud tradition of volunteerism. There may not be enough volunteer positions available for all parents. It's suggested that you sign up early to be included.
