Who are the music boosters?
If you have a child in the band or choirs, YOU are an Altoona Music Booster!
The Altoona Music Boosters is a service organization made up of interested parents of band and/or choir students. Some, but certainly not all, of the major functions of the boosters include assisting with fundraising, chaperoning trips, assisting with festivals hosted by Altoona, scholarships to summer music camps, and generally helping to represent the interests of the music program.
Meetings are scheduled monthly.
Upcoming Booster Meetings
Our plan is to meet the first Tuesday of the month during the school year at 6pm in the high school auditorium. If interested in attending, please contact an officer to confirm next meeting.
| The Altoona Locomotion, a group of 29 singer/dancers, 12 band members, and 3 crew people, has been in existence for nearly thirty years. It is a co-curricular group that rehearses on Monday evenings and Thursdays during choir. Matt Kruszka is show band director. Dominic Matas is choreographer. Elizabeth Drayton is Locomo-tion Associate Director. Lauren Lierman is In Training Associate director.
Over the past several years, the Locomotion has placed in the finals at Totino Grace, La Crosse-Logan, Eau Claire-Memorial Winterfest, Brodhead, Tomah, and Grand Champions at Albert Lea, Colby, and Monona Grove. Locomotion's vocal director is Justin Ranek, and the show band is under the new direction of Brianna Hepfler. We are also very excited to be choreographed by Ben Schrank for the second consecutive year. We hope you enjoy the show! |
